Family
Laurie McCaulley is a proud mother of four children. After her divorce, she faced the challenge of raising four children on her own. All of her children received scholarships to their respective college or university.
LaTasha is a board certified Pediatrician who is a fellow in Critical Care Pediatrics in Detroit, Michigan. She obtained a Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Tuskegee University; Esau has a Bachelor’s in History from the University of the South, and a Master in Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is a priest, a high school teacher, and head football coach. Esau is married to the former Elizabeth Waters. Elizabeth (Mandy) is also a Pediatrician in the United States Navy. They have blessed her with the second grandson Luke Isaiah.
Marketha has Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Tuskegee University. She is married to Fletcher Bailey. They have blessed her with two grandsons; the first- born is Johnathan Marcellus and third is David Maurice. Brandon is working on his collegiate journey. All of her children graduated from James Oliver Johnson High School.

Laurie Bone McCaulley is a product of Huntsville City Schools system. She attended West Mastin Lake Elementary, Ed White Middle and graduated from James Oliver Johnson High School. Laurie obtained an Associate Degree in Applied Science major Paralegal Studies from Phillips Junior College.
She is a community activist with a passion to serve.
Laurie is the founder of "That Parent Place, Inc” a nonprofit organization that addresses current parenting issues. She is a freelance columnist for Speaking’ Out News weekly newspaper. Laurie is an associate minister at Union Hill P.B. Church.
Community Service/ Honors
Currently, she serves as the Alabama PTA president, a member of the Governor’s Commission for Quality Teachers, the Alabama Department of Education State Superintendent Advisory Committee, State Children’s Policy Council, Founder of Northwest Huntsville “Celebrating Education Parade and Festival, Past President of Huntsville Council of PTAs, Past President of J. O. Johnson High School PTSA, and Past President of Davis Hills Middle School PTSA.
She served as a member of the National PTA (NPTA) Board of Directors, NPTA Field Service committee, NPTA Committee on Diversity chairperson, Alabama A&M University and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Health Careers Opportunity Program Board of Directors. Governor’s Congress on School Leadership, and Alabama Department of Education Federal Programs Statewide Parent and Community Involvement Advisory Committee
Laurie has had the honor of being recognized nationally and statewide by several organizations or entities which includes the National Coalition of ESEA Title I Parents, a resolution from Alabama State Senate for Pioneer Women of Madison County, and an alumni member of Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of commerce Leadership Class 19 and The Outside the Boxx Parent, Inc., Parent of the Month.
